Bill Dubois

Bill Dubois has enjoyed over 11 years with Kinaxis in a number of roles, including his current position as a business consultant providing pre-sales support to the Kinaxis Sales Team. This includes developing and delivering "stand-out" product demonstrations, delivering ROI analysis and also coordinating and conducting pilot projects for prospective customers. In his other roles with Kinaxis, Bill was the manager of pre-sales consulting and joined the company as an integration consultant.

Prior to joining Kinaxis, Bill gained 12 years of manufacturing, supply chain and lean experience while with Boeing of Canada. During Bill's time with Boeing as the lean project manager, Bill lead a team comprised of divisional managers that successfully transitioned the shop floor from a job shop environment to a just-in-time (JIT) environment. Results included breakthrough improvements in delivery, quality and over 90 percent reductions in inventory and cycle times. Bill also held positions in material planning and production management.

Bill is APICS CPIM certified, and as a qualified APICS instructor, Bill has developed and delivered APICS courses in material planning, master scheduling, capacity management and just-in-time. Bill has also developed and delivered Lean education and training packages for all levels of personnel.

John earned a Bachelor of Computer Science, from Concordia University, Montreal, Canada, with a strong focus on software architecture and UI Design.

Douglas Colbeth
president, chief executive officer and chairman of the board

Doug ColbethDouglas Colbeth became president and chief executive officer of Kinaxis™ in March 2003. As one of the true visionaries of the Internet explosion in the mid 1990's, he envisioned the opportunity to be a leader in delivering an on-demand supply chain management service. He then came across what he describes as a "gang of supply chain geniuses" in Canada, who had already developed very powerful modeling and collaboration technology.

Doug understood what the Internet's influence on consumer behavior would be and how it would dramatically increase demand volatility. The problem of effectively responding to consumer demand would be further exacerbated by the dramatic market shift of outsourced manufacturing operations. Under Doug's leadership, Kinaxis developed a world-class offering which enables companies to build better supply chain plans and quickly respond to constant changes in demand, supply and product — driving breakthroughs in customer service and operations performance. Today, the Kinaxis on-demand RapidResponse™ service empowers front-line decision makers at brand name companies and contract manufacturers with multi-enterprise visibility and collaborative analysis tools to effectively respond to change across an entire distributed supply chain.

Boone Pickens.

During his tenure at AMR Kevin published over 400 articles and reports detailing disciplines like Demand Driven Supply Networks and Product Lifecycle Management. He holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Boston College, an MSc in Management Studies from Oxford University, and a Masters in Business Administration from Stanford University.

Session abstract

Kevin O'Marah, most recently of Gartner (AMR) will share his perspectives on technology, the human brain, and supply chain for winners in this not to miss keynote address.

A day late and a dollar short — this is how one leading executive described the technology of ERP as part of today's global supply chain. New data shows that cost control, while still a fundamental for supply chain strategists, is steadily losing ground to higher level business imperatives like speed, agility and responsiveness. It is also clear that supply chain talent gaps increasingly separate winners from losers across industries. Is it possible that billions spent on ERP backbones offer little more than data and transaction automation while newer technologies race ahead by tapping human intelligence organically? It is not only possible, it is happening and supply chain strategists who can attract talent and leverage it with the right technologies are winning because of it.

His most significant contribution was the creation and development of Jabil's Corporate Supply Chain organization, which included people, processes, and toolsets to support the transition from decentralized materials management to centralized supply chain management.

Session abstract

Today's supply chains are becoming increasingly complex with increased dependencies across the globe, accelerated life-cycle compression, more volatile demand patterns, and persistent cost pressures. These complexities allow only the most critical nodes to be tightly managed and leave significant portions of the supply chain exposed. One only needs to look to the Japan crisis as a glaring example. Learn how Jabil leverages RapidResponse to identify and map critical supply chain characteristics by end product to produce optimal results.

Session abstract

As supply chains evolve to demand driven value networks, the need to connect and collaborate with external partners such as contract manufacturers and logistics service providers increases. Planning, monitoring and responding to changes across a globally distributed network of owned and outsourced operations requires business practices and technology solutions that are different from systems such as ERP applications that were designed to manage the supply chain functions contained within boundaries of an enterprise. Join this session and hear Gartner insights on how cloud supply chain solutions support critical supply chain processes such as S&OP as companies progress on the journey to become more demand driven.

Session abstract

The increasing number of tiers in the supply chain also increases the dependency on remote suppliers for your operations performance results. To be truly effective, supplier collaboration needs to go far beyond the tactical exchange of data. Key suppliers must be brought into the decision-making process, so that manufacturers and brand owners can exchange early warnings and collaboratively resolve supply chain risk issues.

This session will show you the specific features and functions within RapidResponse that are key to building an efficient and effective process for working with your extended supply chain.

Paul holds an MSc in electrical engineering and has over 20 years of software industry experience. He joined Kinaxis in 2000 as a software architect and assumed a management role within R&D in 2003.

Session abstract

Business process automation is essential to implement effective business processes that identify exceptions to be escalated, while automating the tasks that do not require manual intervention. The introduction of Scripts in version 10.1 takes this to the next level, giving resource authors powerful tools to express business rules, and schedule a script or attach it to an event such as scenario change or workbook save. In addition to scripting overview, this session will provide an example of how to replace chained alerts with a script.

Another important ingredient to effective decision making in RapidResponse is near-real-time connectivity with other systems. This ensures that decisions are based on up-to-date information and that they are communicated quickly and automatically to ERP, or other corporate systems. Version 10.1 provides a complete set of S&OP web services that enable system-to-system net change, business process automation, and portal integration.

The session will give a glimpse into new scripting capabilities, and REST web services coming in version 11.0.
