Just a heads up that Kinaxis will be participating in the Biomanufacturing Summit 2011 in San Diego, California, taking place next week on January 24-25, 2011. I will be presenting the session called “Insights from Highly Outsourced Supply Chains,” at 2:40 p.m. on January 24. To get a little taste of what I will be speaking about, here is the abstract from my session: Outsourcing and off-shoring are becoming increasingly important to the bio-manufacturing industry. Learn how high-tech/electronics and semiconductor companies are managing the risks and complexities of an outsourced value chain by adopting postponement strategies and sophisticated applications for continuous planning. Even within existing internal bio-manufacturing supply chains efficiencies can be gained that have a large impact on the bottom line while not jeopardizing customer service. Don’t forget to follow me on Twitter at @Milesahead as I will be tweeting from the event. And stay tuned to the blog after the event for a round-up of my news and views. Also, if you’re at the event, stop by the Kinaxis booth and say hi! The event season has begun, and it’s going to be a busy 2011. Check out our events page to see what else we are up to!
