Building trust

We believe in our responsibility to build trust with all of our internal and external stakeholders through openness, transparency and accountability, including the protection of all our stakeholders’ data.

Protecting the planet

Our platform, RapidResponse®, makes significant contributions to helping our customers reduce waste in its many forms every day. It helps manufacturers of a diverse variety of goods reduce wasted product, mitigate carbon emissions, enable efficient recycling and ensure critical items like pharmaceuticals are available where and when they’re needed.

Sustainable Supply Chain

Scope 3 emissions account for more than 90% of a company’s carbon footprint, so failure to understand the environmental impact of supply chain decisions is a major barrier to a more sustainable future. With Kinaxis, seamlessly blend timely and accurate emissions data into supply chain planning so you can weigh environmental factors alongside economic and service indicators to optimally balance the triple bottom line. Learn how you can plan cleaner and greener.

Carbon neutrality

Since 2020 and with the help of independent consultants Carbonzero, Kinaxis has measured and disclosed its impact on the environment by identifying our direct and indirect greenhouse gas sources, covering Scopes 1 to 3 activities. In 2023, we achieved carbon neutrality for GHG emissions by investing in high-quality carbon offsets sourced through reputable providers from Canadian and international projects.

Our Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions have been measured and offset with Carbonzero since 2020.

Other programs

We also recognize the urgency of the global climate change crisis and are committed to improving management practices around climate risks and opportunities. We have integrated our climate risk analysis with our existing enterprise risk management program to build a more holistic approach to our processes. In 2021, we initiated a risk analysis aligned with the Task Force on Climate-Related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) recommendations. We will continue to actively manage and monitor the most significant risks and opportunities and support the aims of the TCFD to bring transparency around climate risks into financial reporting.

Working with Tree-Nation

To supplement our carbon offsetting program, for select carbon-emitting activities we have been working with Tree-Nation, a platform to reforest the world and fight climate change.

Recently we planted trees instead of giving away swag to visitors to our corporate booth at a busy industry event. At an industry roundtable of thought leaders, academics, and practitioners discussing the future of supply chain, Kinaxis planted trees on behalf of participants.

In all since we began working together, Tree-Nation has planted over 25,000 trees on our behalf, across 21 hectares in India, the United States, Nepal, Tanzania, and Brazil. Tree-Nation estimates that this activity has helped offset almost 6,000 tCO2e, which we have not included in our own GHG inventory or offset calculations.

Taking care of people

One thing that remains a constant at Kinaxis is that People Matter Here. This will never change. It’s in our DNA and comes from the combination of our corporate values, our purpose, behaviors, actions and ways of working together. We celebrate each other’s differences, continuously strive for equality and recognize that inclusion makes us stronger as individuals, a company and global citizens. Amongst other important initiatives, we’ve:

  • Launched a new Vendor Code of Conduct that covers our expectations of third parties we work with to treat people with decency, dignity and respect
  • Introduced programs promoting Indigenous allyship, awareness and relations
  • Enhanced benefits for gender affirmation and mental health coverage

As a result of our extraordinary, award-winning culture and exciting work opportunities, our annual engagement survey continues to maintain a strong participation rate (89%), with a better-than-benchmark overall engagement index score of 84% in 2023.

Building trust

Our SaaS solution(/services) processes the supply chain data of globally recognized, Fortune Global 500 leaders and other major companies, so we have established several key processes to earn and keep the trust of these market leaders, including intellectual property protection, and world-class data security and privacy features. While protection of all data is critical, the most material impact to our business relates to how we manage data security and privacy for customers using our SaaS solution.

To ensure the continuous confidentiality, integrity and availability of our services and to further support our ongoing commitment to cybersecurity, we have implemented an enterprise-wide Digital Security Program, which provides a comprehensive framework of security policies, control objectives, standards, procedures and guidelines under which Kinaxis operates and reflects the latest industry standards and rules, including the ISO 27000 families of standards, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), and the NIST Special Publication 800 Series.

Kinaxis commits to complying with all applicable privacy or data protection laws and to processing customers’ data solely for the purposes of providing our services and in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contracts between ourselves and our customers. We also acknowledge that our customers must follow strict legal and regulatory requirements related to how their data is handled. As such, our SaaS solutions include technical capabilities which allow our customers to comply with different regulatory requirements, such as addressing individual requests or meeting reporting or documentation requirements. Kinaxis always provides its customers with the assistance they need to be able to meet their own obligations, such as assistance with privacy related impact assessments, supervisory audits or Data Subject requests.

Giving back

We have signed key partnerships with two prominent non-profit organizations to advance our social and environmental impact.

Women Who Code Logo

We have engaged with Women Who Code, a global non-profit organization empowering diverse women to excel in technology careers. They offer resources, communities, and support for over 360,000 diverse technologists around the world. Women Who Code supports engineers, developers, data scientists, architects, designers and other technologists with the resources and community to stay in tech and level up. Through active engagement, mentoring, and active recruitment through Women Who Code, Kinaxis aims to enable diverse women with the tools, resources and opportunities to succeed in their tech careers. This partnership is built on our desire to contribute to women's empowerment and growth in STEM fields.

Ellen Macarthur Foundation Logo

We are a Network Member of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation, an organization committed to creating a circular economy designed to eliminate waste and pollution, circulate products and materials and regenerate nature. As we move away from a take, make, waste linear model, the circular economy offers businesses the opportunity to redesign their supply chains to meet these needs, as well as reduce costs and cut greenhouse gas emissions. We look forward to collaborating with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation and its extensive network of subject matter experts to advance circular practices in the industry.
