Today, we are proud to share Becton, Dickinson and Company (BD) has joined our life sciences community as it undergoes a digital transformation with Kinaxis RapidResponse®. BD has seen increased growth over the past decade after acquiring 25 medical technology companies including, most notably, C.R. Bard, Inc., which was announced in 2017.
BD is the fifth largest global medical technology company in the world. BD has continued to develop its leadership position in medication management and infection prevention as acquisitions have increased its solutions offerings. Partnering with Kinaxis will empower BD to streamline its multiple SAP and Oracle ERP systems into one platform, gaining transparency and complete visibility across its global supply chain. BD plans to develop better scenario planning and harmonize supply and demand planning along with Integrated Business Planning and S&OP to benefit now and ease expansion in the future.
Attribute-based planning is at the core of all supply chain planning within the life science industry and its importance has only grown over the last year. It expands on traditional scenario planning to include changes in legislation or government regulations -- in this case, regarding medical ingredients, processes and needs -- across countries and thoughtfully communicates that information back to planners. Kinaxis offers attribute-based planning technologies unlike anything else on the market today.
We are looking forward to working with BD to provide end-to-end supply chain visibility, a single source of truth, and increased agility to support BD’s mission to improve medical discovery, diagnostics and the delivery of care.
