How would you describe the culture at Kinaxis? The culture at Kinaxis is one of a kind, and there’s no one word for it, but I’ll say that it is absolutely amazing! I remember from my day 1, it doesn’t matter if the fellow employees are from the same team or not, they were always there to support and make me feel welcomed at the company. You will surely meet amazing people here at Kinaxis!

What have you learned in your time at Kinaxis? As a complete newcomer to Time Series Forecasting applications in Supply Chain, the first few weeks of my Co-Op term consisted of reading articles, research papers, and getting myself familiarized with the ins and outs of applied Time Series Data. My supervisor and my team lead both are industry experts in the field and they helped me catch up quickly. At the end of the term, I felt like, I have a good knowledge base where I can provide the “whys” and “why nots” for my work and decisions in building Machine Learning pipeline.

What are some of the highlights of your experience at Kinaxis? The highlight of my experience at Kinaxis was winning the best video title at the Kinaxis Hackathon 2022 with my fellow teammates. The hackathon was a one-of-a-kind experience. It ended with a Kinaxis InConcert event where employees of Kinaxis get to show their musical talents, and so I did. That was the first time I ever played guitar and sang in a workplace event.

What are some of the projects that you have worked on during your placement? I worked on a project called Dynamic Signals, in which my task was to apply specific operations on raw data in such a way that the input data can be of any format, the forecasting model would train and learn to forecast for the future events. This project gave me an in-depth domain knowledge which I think would be very helpful in helping my grow my skills.

What advice would you give to an incoming Co-Op/Intern? As a Co-Op/Intern, you are here to learn and grow your skills and also grow your connections. My biggest advice would be talk to people, and ask questions to your peers or your supervisor. They are the best people you can hope for to get the right answers from. If you have stage fear, no problem, just be confident and take the advantage of the work culture at Kinaxis. Participate in the hackathon if it aligns with your work term, take part in the social events (there are a lot!), and make a lot of friends. I am sure your time at Kinaxis would be amazing!

How would you describe the culture at Kinaxis? The culture at Kinaxis is phenomenal. Honestly, they value people here and this company really cares about their employees. Just the work environment and the people that work here, makes you motivated each and every single day. Employees here always feel that there is that support out there which they can rely on. Kinaxis has done an amazing job in making people feel welcomed here.

What have you learned in your time at Kinaxis? Before I started my placement, I always wanted to get exposure to the CRM tool Salesforce. As a Sales Data Coordinator Intern, majority of my projects revolved around Salesforce. I learned how to generate/run reports and create/convert leads. I also learned how to source contacts between the software of ZoomInfo and LinkedIn Sales Navigator.

What are some of the highlights in your experience at Kinaxis? Throughout my Co-Op term, there were many highlights here at Kinaxis. Some include that hybrid model that is in place. This allowed me to meet so many more people than I would have ever imagined. Just creating those networks and meeting new people are the many positives. Also, having a face-to-face conversation with the CEO was a highlight that really motivated me. Then also with the many perks that Kinaxis offers within its state-of-the-art-building including the 24/7 gym, games room, the roof top, and a cold brew machine!

What are some of the projects that you have worked on during your placement?
Some of the projects that I had worked on included managing account data. Part of my responsibilities involved verifying revenue data by reviewing financial statements through extensive secondary research. On a day-to-day basis, I would monitor all these various account data through a set of Domo cards that encompassed those data. During our Big Ideas in Supply Chain Summit (BISC) event, I worked on managing the leads and contacts for that event alongside a colleague to ensure everything was up to par.

What advice would you give to an incoming Co-Op/Intern? For an incoming Co-Op/Intern, the advice I would give them is to put yourself out there, ask questions, mention your goals and what you want to learn, and to not be shy! Just putting yourself out there and making a name for yourself will go a long way. Of course, being a new Co-Op/Intern can be stressful and nerve-wrecking, but just think about how you are working for an amazing company like Kinaxis and enjoy the amount of support you will receive during the placement.
